Best Labuan Bajo Restaurants

Nestled on the west side of East Nusa Tenggara Flores lies the once-sleepy seaside town of Labuan Bajo. Skipping to the last 5 years the Labuan Bajo trip has turned into a bustling gateway to Komodo National Park – the only place in the world to see the Komodo Dragon in its natural habitat.

As many tours depart early in the morning, it’s common for travellers to arrive the day prior, book into a hotel in Labuan Bajo, before commencing their adventure on a Komodo Islands boat tour. Labuan Bajo Indonesia has therefore upped its game in the hospitality scene with a range of accommodation from budget hostels to 5-star resorts and several restaurant options too!

Thousands of tourists now flock to this Jurassic Park-like landscape to catch a glimpse of the mythical Godzilla-like creature along with the many other awe-inspiring islands within the park.

One of the rewards of a rush in tourism is an increase in great restaurants.

Best Restaurants in Labuan Bajo

La Cucina

La Cucina Labuan Bajo is a friendly Italian spot offering a welcoming airy vibe that draws guests in for their nostalgic and comfort cuisine. Admired by many online, this Labuan Bajo restaurant hosts a multitude of great reviews based on its chilled aesthetic which sets the mood to look out over the ocean and its delights catering to breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Sourced from mainly local ingredients, it still delivers a wonderfully authentic Italian experience at a fraction of the price of what you’d pay in Italy.

Although prices may still appear to be expensive by local standards, ‘Western cuisine’ is generally pricer than local dishes at any restaurant in Indonesia.

TRAVELIST TIP: The La Cucina menu is diverse in its Italian dishes, but it’s recommended to stick to the popular dishes as well as sampling some of their deliciously moreish daily baked goods!

Catering to guests’ WiFi needs they also offer a great little terrace to overlook the bay whilst enjoying a cold drink and the sunset. Labuan Bajo has places to enjoy an incredible sunset and this is a hot contender!
