If you’re feeling adventurous (and have the time, descend the rickety stairs down to the beach and soak in the sublime tranquillity. You can also explore some of the hidden coves and inlets around the beach – just be sure to wear proper footwear as these trails are often rocky or slippery.

Angel’s Billabong is a naturally formed infinity pool where you can take a refreshing dip while overlooking the vast ocean.

TRAVELIST TIP: Some people have been known to venture into the pool – DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! The tide rises quickly and it can be dangerous, I don’t recommend getting in and in recent years it’s been prohibited -so safety first.

So how did Broken Beach earn its name? It’s all down to the massive rock arch, the star landmark of this spot. Over time, the relentless pounding of the waves eroded the cliff, carving out this incredible archway. From a distance, it appears as though a chunk of the cliff has been ‘broken’ away, hence the name Broken Beach or “Pasih Uug” in Balinese, which literally translates to ‘damaged beach’.
TRAVELIST TIP: Walking over the natural rock archway is a thrilling experience. However, keep in mind that the drop into the ocean below is significant, so be cautious and respect the safety guidelines.

In the late afternoon, the setting sun bathes the beach in a warm, golden hue, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
TRAVELIST TIP: Wear sturdy shoes as the staircase can be quite slippery.

Best time to visit? I recommend visiting the viewpoint early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Not only does this help avoid the midday crowds, but the soft lighting during these hours also makes for some incredible photographs.

It’s a bit hidden and not many tourists know about it, so you might have this magical place all to yourself! - Modest dressing is a must, and sarongs are available at the entrance for those who need one

- While photography is allowed, it’s essential to be respectful and avoid disturbing the devotees.
The temple is open every day, and there is a small donation fee upon entry, which goes towards the temple’s upkeep.
Best time to visit? I found the early morning to be the best time to visit, as the temple was less crowded and the soft rays of dawn added a magical touch to the whole experience.

If you’re an adventure seeker like me, then a visit to Seganing Falls is an absolute must see on your Nusa Penida itinerary. This hidden gem tucked away on the island’s east coast offers a trek that is as challenging as it is rewarding.
As I embarked on the trail, I was immediately struck by the rugged beauty of the landscape. The path, carved into the side of the cliff, is steep and a little bit treacherous, but the views of the crashing waves against the rocky shoreline below were nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Reaching the waterfall was a victory in itself. The sight of the cascading water against the backdrop of the vast ocean is incredible. The cool mist on my face, the roar of the falls, and smell the fresh scent of the surrounding vegetation, its sensory wonderland.
TRAVELIST TIP: This trek is not for the faint-hearted. The trail can be slippery, so proper footwear is a must. I recommend wearing good-quality hiking boots for better grip. Also, don’t forget to pack plenty of water, some snacks, and of course, your camera to capture the breathtaking scenery.
20. Saren Cliff Viewpoint: A Panoramic Paradise in Nusa Penida
One of the most captivating sights that I’ve had the privilege to witness in Nusa Penida is the Saren Cliff Viewpoint. Perched on the island’s southwestern edge, this viewpoint is a vantage point like no other.
As you stand atop the rugged cliffs, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama – the vast azure ocean meeting the sky at the horizon, and the stunning eastern side of Nusa Penida unfolding in all its glory.
What sets Saren Cliff Viewpoint apart from other destinations in Nusa Penida is its untouched charm. The absence of commercial buzz allows you to fully immerse yourself in the natural splendour of the place. It’s a definitely yes on the places to visit in Nusa Penida list!
Best time to visit? Make sure to visit during sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, it paints the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, creating a spectacle that’s nothing short of magical.
