How to Get to Labuan Bajo

The trip to Labuan Bajo can be reached by flight from the main cities in Indonesia. They will also often involve a transit in Bali or Lombok.

The Jakarta-Labuan Bajo flight is approximately 2h35min. From Bali to Labuan Bajo is only an hour’s flight. The Denpasar to Labuan Bajo route is only available on certain airlines and at certain times.

Travel to Labuan Bajo from Lombok is also available by air (the quickest option) but they also have a sailing Labuan Bajo option but that only leaves from a specific city and involves taking public transport to get to the city (Mataram), but I haven’t much information on the availability, times, prices or reliability of this Lombok to Labuan Bajo option.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: We travelled from Jakarta to Labuan Bajo. It was almost a one-day trip, Labuan Bajo flights were morning: Jakarta to Bali, transit, Afternoon: Bali-Labuan Bajo trip. At the time there were no direct flights, but now there are some available flights. Bali to Labuan Bajo was a quick trip anyway.
